News

One of my broadcast heroes is about to embark upon his 60th year as play-by-play announcer for the Los Angeles Dodgers.  Wow!

Here's the story as reported by All Access:

VIN SCULLY will be back for his 60th season broadcasting DODGERS baseball in 2009. SCULLY, 80, told reporters SATURDAY that he is coming back under a one-year contract after his wife SANDY gave her blessing. 2008 is the last season of a three-year deal for SCULLY, who broadcasts home games and road contests on the WEST COAST and from COLORADO and ARIZONA.

Remember when socializing actually meant seeing, meeting and interacting with actual people?

Not only have I caved in, but I have succumbed to virtual socializing.  I'm guessing I'm on nearly all of the social networking sites now.  Problem is, it's nearly impossible to keep up with all of them.  Some are general networking and some are very specific to voiceover and acting.  Let's see... here are the social networking sites upon which you'll find me (to date):

     Doc on Plaxo

     Doc on Linkedin

     Doc on Voiceover Universe

     Doc on Filmixer

     Doc of Facebook

     Doc on MySpace

Whew!  There's a lot of good content on these sites but it takes real effort to keep up.  I may even belong to more social networking sites.  I'm not sure!

Who dat?

All right - take a good look!  Then, tell me... Who dat?

Give up?  Okay, she was married to an abusive man, had a few HUGE hits in the 1960's and has what some call the best legs in show business.  She tears the roof off the sucker.  She's the one and only Tina Turner!

Okay - ready for another?

Who dat?

This one should be easy.  Take a good look!  Then, tell me... Who dat?

See next month's edition of "What's Up Doc" for the answer.

Ready for the worst album covers... ever?

This one reminds me a bit of the character Ana Gasteyer used to play on SNL
