What Exactly IS Plagiarism?
A fellow voice actor and friend - let’s call him “Dave” (because that’s his name) was recently accused of plagiarism for copying and pasting an article written by another author. The other author actually threatened “action” against Dave for the author’s perceived infraction.
The author is the quality assurance manager for Voice123 and, IMHO based upon his correspondence with Dave, has NO clue what plagiarism is.
Now, please understand that Dave is an educated and trained journalist with decades of experience. Plagiarism is part of Journalism 101. And, because I know Dave well enough to know that his character and integrity would absolutely preclude him from exercising such an act, I can nearly assure you that Dave did nothing wrong. Not even close. He cited the author of the piece and where it originally appeared. You may see for yourself here: No plagiarism here
I suggest Voice123 retract their threat and offer Dave a written apology.
