Since I’ve Had Many Inquiries…

… I guess it’s time to update.

I know it’s been a while. How nice is it that so many of my peers seem concerned enough to inquire where I’ve been.

I swore I wouldn’t go public with personal stuff, but I feel obligated to respond.

It’s been a very tough year for me regarding my health. In April I developed severe edema in my legs and feet. By May it had progressed to my abdomen including ALL soft tissue from there down. I put on more than 60 pounds of retained fluid and felt miserable. I was subsequently diagnosed with an enlarged heart which is part of what is known as congestive heart failure.

I have now taken off those 60 pounds and then some and have somewhat recovered. However, my docs have been brutally honest with me and informed me it may be months before I achieve some semblance of normal. CHF is a chronic condition which very seldom offers a complete recovery which is why I indicate “semblance”.

The reason I have been reticent to address this issue is because I do not seek sympathy. I am also not seeking flowers, cards, etc. Your good thoughts are more than enough for me. If you feel compelled to do something, send me those gigs you don’t want. I have mounting medical bills.
