This Sunday, we will select a new Tucson Idol to carry on what has become a tradition of showcasing amateur talent in Southern Arizona. We were lucky enough to find a new venue for Season 7. Our former venue became a thorn in our side. The problem here lies in the fact that T.I. has become quite a local success and some believe we’re actually making money - GREAT money doing this. Not so. If we do in the future, so be it. But, that’s not even why we do it. We want Southern Arizona to become aware of the talent that resides right here in our communities.

Our new venue is smaller and more intimate. But, the atmosphere is so much more laid back. If you come to Tucson, please take in a show at the Top Hat Theatre Club.

And, of course, please keep cheering on this super amateur talent available right here in our own back yard.

I know “funny” is subjective, but Kristen Wiig absolutely cracks me up. I’d like to share one of her best moments from last night’s show.

Every had one? I did. And, it alerted me to a very important component of my web site. I’ve been going along for 3 years now, never realizing that I hadn’t used my name in my demo file names. HUGE mistake. So, I’ve just spent the last 3 hours repairing and updating my site to reflect same.

If any prospective agents, producers, etc. have downloaded my files, I certainly hope they come back and download ‘em again. Of course, when you hope in one hand and… well, you know the rest.

To be honest, I’ve been wanting to try it now for several months. Since Voices-Dot-Com is raising their fees on March 31, I chose to get grandfathered in.

I’ve already submitted about a dozen auditions. We’ll see what happens.
